The New Dominion

Back in March last year, exactly on the equinox, Saturn began a brief three month journey into tropical Aquarius. Ten days after crossing the cusp, Saturn was met by Mars in the first degree of the fixed air sign. Later in the year, after traveling retrograde back into Capricorn for three and a half months, Saturn returned again to Aquarius and famously met with Jupiter, again in the first degree of the fixed air sign. Their meeting took place exactly on the December solstice, thus beginning their current 20 year cycle, and in so doing signalled a departure from two centuries of their joint influence over the earth signs.

For the next two centuries the new era of Saturn Jupiter cycles will be initiated in Air signs, and the focus on the mental sphere that this signals requires us to be very much aware of how Saturnian energies and qualities are being brought to bear on our minds and awareness, as well as how, in a Jupiterian sense, they are being disseminated. We will be tasked to become uber-conscious of the multiple nature and realms of consciousness and its underlying structures, not to mention thoughts themselves, what is actually in and on our minds and, most importantly, the nature of their source.

The contents, dynamics and infrastructure of personal consciousness will be given particular emphasis over the next two centuries; even though over one hundred years of western psychology has seen an attempt to bring comprehension to this very arena and its realities explored, what we are moving into now is a progression building on foundations that have been laid throughout the last two eras of Saturn Jupiter cycles, in earth and fire. These stretch back to the very beginnings of the modern scientific age.

We are now entering a new era of colonisation, one in which the indigenous nature of our own minds is under threat.

The exploration of human psychology has itself been a thought experiment, and the persistent philosophical ramifications of this experiment can be seen reflected in both the ‘hard problem’ of science, ie the search for consciousness through scientific methodologies, and the subsequent shaping of scientific ontologies. The progressive effect of these experiments is itself reflected in the question of soul, not least its survival within the industrial landscape and realms of the machine.

The search for soul, identified by C G Jung as a characteristic of the modern era, has had a reductive effect on what it means to be human, an effect that is currently being capitalised on by the transhumanist ideologues – under the influence of applied utilitarian modernist ideologies in particular, which are also very ‘Saturn in Aquarius’, we have now arrived at what contemporary philosophers are referring to as a ‘crisis of meaning’. Although there is a positive side to this, in so far as the debate that surrounds this crisis is forcing a higher level of creative thinking, it is also engendering a fractured and politically diverse, if not increasingly polarised mental environment. This too is being capitalised upon, incorporated into the ‘new order’ that we are seeing emerge.

In a far less than positive sense the transmutation of the body politic, which this new thinking is influencing directly, affects our everyday lives. A ‘new dominion’ is emerging, conveniently disguising itself within the shapeshifting Hegelian dialectic of our times. The corresponding political currents of ideology and political thought which are steering this establishment of new dominion can, for example, be seen quite clearly in such movements as Communitarianism, a brand of political ideology that underpins one of our times most notorious and pervasive, if not invasive, geo-political social experiments, namely Agenda 21/30.

In fact, Saturn was in mid Aquarius, just as it is now, when A21 was first officially adopted, back in 1992 – Agenda 21 is having its first Saturn return! Look to February 2022 for the first exact return, but, in the meantime, enjoy the build up.

Seeing what we are currently going through in terms of Saturn return may well help to make sense of what is happening in the world.

Seriously, the timetable for rollout can be mapped out against the planetary movements – but, the fact is that Communitarian Law carefully balanced and integrated with National and State Law, has been installed in virtually every government’s lexicon of control, over the last three decades. It is this that has so easily enabled Covid policy to be implemented worldwide simultaneously. (1)

However, while the self appointed architects of our future have it all planned and worked out, the growing cognisance being directed at this attempt at dominion is inevitably producing a backlash at grass roots level. This is not new; you could almost say that is the Jupiterian part of the deal, although for a counter-revolutionary kick we might expect the impulse to be coming more from Saturn’s co-ruler in Aquarius, Uranus.

Uranus is currently squaring Saturn from Taurus, but what matters here is that Uranian consciousness is of another order, and represents the kind of tangential, atypical thinking that will prove most effective against the spread of the new dominion.

We might well be acutely aware of a need to bring about a conscious revolution, if not a revolution in consciousness itself, in order to counter this drive for extended rulership over our individual and collective lives. This too is an actualisation of the Aquarian impulse, but it is also very much in keeping with the current domain being engineered by Saturn in Aquarius, and the current square from Uranus in Taurus; this describes a tussle between fixed earth and fixed air, and between two very polarised planetary archetypes, and it makes of this a pivotal point in our collective story, if not our planetary journey in time.

For sure, this is not the first time I have found myself saying that phrase in the last ten years, and turning points seem to pile up complexity at every turn, but, one thing really has changed – these are intense times, almost like no other.

At the time of Venus last retrograde in Gemini and transition to ‘Morning Star’ mode, May through July last year, I suggested that we should bring as much energy, focus and passion as possible to raising a counter culture – we can still do this, but, the momentum and means to do so are being undermined by a war of attrition, one that is currently operating under the guise of responses to the global ‘pandemic’ which has become branded on our times and freedoms. The response must be equally infectious, potentially at least as pervasive and represent the means to an end that once and for all rids our home planet of the power hungry parasites that plague it.

Even though we are now living on the cusp of a great mental revolution, within the compass of a truly radical rethinking of how we live our lives under A21/30 and the so called “Great Reset” we are witnessing yet another extension of the same power of dominion that has been at work in the world for millennia. Its no surprise that the Saturn Jupiter conjunction is often referred to as the ‘King Maker’. Manifestation of the power of dominion is part and parcel of the influence that Saturn and Jupiter bring to the elements as they are embodied within each 200 year cycle. The UN agendas and Klaus Schwab’s brainchild, the Great Reset’, so called, are being built on socio-economic foundations that are centuries old. In fact, the last 200 years emphasis on the earth signs has seen incredible developments that support the current manifestation in mastering the physical realm; colonising the Earth with industrial power and machine culture has delivered us into a reality that is dominated by technologies that are now themselves challenging their own physical boundaries and nature. (2)

That meeting at 0° Aquarius which began their current cycle, exactly in the midst of Saturn’s twin sign domain, Capricorn and Aquarius, lends itself very much to the transference of power from the physical into the mental sphere, and it does so through the lens of the ‘king makers’ own creations within the realms of industry and commerce.

It has reached its own turning point too; having created for itself a military industrial complex that is currently patenting technologies that manipulate space-time itself, the bounds of the known have been breached. The old corporate model, with its heavily competative machinisms of currency, has also come to the end of its material use by date, has outstripped its own market and is now transmuting into the brave new world of crypto-data driven VR realities. The virtual market however, once fully established and locked down, is unlimited. This could be, in fact almost certainly is, the precise arena in which control of the mind truly becomes the provenance of government, which is precisely what the word government means, only political power has spent much of the last two hundred years shifting its centre of gravity to within the newly crowned techno-corporate world, and that too is now giving the reality of political power a new structure and medium, while taking the meaning of dominion to new levels. The shift into the Aquarian era is being initiated through a collective transit of the digital, virtual world.

When Saturn crossed the cusp of Aquarius it was inevitable that the very structures of our social contracts, freedoms and connectivity would be brought into sharp focus – with Neptune squaring the Moon’s nodal axis through this time it should have come as no surprise that one kind of global infection or another would become an agent of Saturn’s manifest qualities. The pandemic, so called, is a Trojan horse, no question, as, by themselves the means for nudging us further into submission are far more difficult to sustain. The “pandemic” is the perfect deployment strategy, itself a perverse model of sustainable development. Only, we know what it is hiding.

Back in March last year it was notable how well the social restrictions that came into force, as well as their easing, fit with Saturn’s movements and breaching of the Aquarian cusp. The control of movement, imposition of restrictions on public services and social distancing spoke directly to the qualities of the ingress and transit. But Saturn’s journey through Aquarius lasts for twenty seven months – even though the ‘lock-ups’, for that is what they truly are, began with Saturn’s first pass a year ago, we are still only in month four of the transit proper.

So, the burning question – “what can we expect over the next two years?” – begins now to take on a whole new dimension. This is the temporal framework of the A21 Saturn return proper. Of course, there are many other planetary factors at work through the present time, but, the underlying theme of freedoms vs restrictions, so very reflective of Saturn in Aquarius, is now pretty much a constant, like it or not. So, we too need to capitalise on that, see it as a purposeful cause, and exploit it to our advantage. Two extremes are being created, and both are at work, fighting it out for the control of our minds.

At the moment this theme underpins everything, but especially within the mental sphere. Its potentially a deadly game, being played on a global scale, felt at the personal level, that can often seem as if the very fabric of everyday life is being dictated to on an archetypal scale. Saturn commands an archetype of control and hard work, but is probably better known as a symbol of death and karma. These are powers whose dynamics have been historically exploited through war and the assertion of political extremism by ruling powers to ruthless effect, often enough in the name of both unilateral and multi-lateral security and ‘national interests’, so called. Even while slavery has been its primary modus operandi, it is all, we have been and continue to be told, “For your own safety”.

The lesson must be learnt, before history turns full circle and it becomes, once again, too late.

Even the case of a perceived global health threat cannot, we are seeing increasingly, disguise the collective psychological infection that such archetypal forces induce. It is now becoming increasingly apparent, and spoken as such, that this time the war is being fought on a front that is, more than anywhere else, quite literally in our minds.

Some might say, “this is nothing new”, such is the reality of planetary upheavals, and even without an apparent pandemic, we are witnessing our planet sliding ever deeper into massive change, in fact, its happening throughout our solar system.

All the outer planets, whose collective archetypes are very much evident in the events of this time, are going through transformation. Neptune has been seeing massive storm systems developing, Uranus is flaring, and Pluto has recently seen a profound drop in atmospheric pressure. Planetary change is endemic, but, here on the planet Earth humans are busy, it seems, making matters worse for themselves.

It may be worth noting here that later in the year, August/September, all the outer planets, along with Saturn and Jupiter, will be retrograde for a period. We will need learn how to metabolise and integrate the experiences we are having now in a way that allows us to make use of their archetypal power, rather than be used by it.

And, it helps to realise that it doesn’t have to be like this – that, in fact, is the point and our ability to shape our own destiny is very much in the spotlight. Our own personal destiny is being called into question and countering the forces involved may seem an overwhelming ask, but, the real change we might seek remains ours for the making, and, as has been said many times before, it all starts under our own two feet. Divesting of the dependencies and attachments we have to the digital world is a strong strategy, reducing and simplifying is a good strategy for beginning this process. This is a new skill which needs to be learned and developed, especially in the face of current limitations being imposed on individual and society alike. Its will require both reskilling in basic living, and a well grounded emotional sense of self.

These basic and vital abilities have also been under attack, are exposed as a weakness, open to exploitation by mislpaced authoritarianism.

The high level of restriction and disconnection that have been experienced through draconian and misplaced ‘lock-down’ measures alone can be overwhelming, and if prolonged, can induce high levels of emotional torque into the simplest of circumstances, a reality that, if sustained, will always have profound consequences – for many this is a disaster, symptoms of traumatic stress syndromes are on the increase, especially among the young adults, where as much as a 67% increase in suicides has been seen in some parts of the western world over the last year.

Right now the Saturn factor is very much present, and although its severity is under scrutiny and being adjusted, as lockdowns ease and yet at the same time remain, as a threat if not a latent underlying reality, things might look quite different were it not for the square from Uranus in Taurus.

Uranus wants to transform all it comes into contact with, and almost from the beginning has been affecting the stability of the regime which Saturn might otherwise reflect unrelentingly. Even more so, Uranus, although co-ruler of Aquarius with Saturn, is not playing on an even pitch with Saturn for, while Saturn is very firmly domicile, and has been on home ground since entering Capricorn very shortly before the December solstice of 2017, Uranus is in Taurus for the long haul and will remain in the fixed earth sign for five more years, by which time Saturn will have passed out of Aquarius, through Pisces and into Aries, along with Neptune – my, thats going to be interesting!

What Uranus is transforming within the natural earth realms, Saturn is overseeing through deployment in the human realm. Much of the context in which the deployment and purposeful use of Uranus transformation of infrastructures and resources is taking place, is being conditioned by Saturnian controls and limitations.

Uranus, it has been said, always wins out in their tussles, but, when these two planets work together, frankly, they are capable of changing the face of reality. And that is very much the applied planetary theme of the moment, especially where technological experimentation is being applied to the earth realm. The vaccination programme is such an experiment, although the technologies embedded within its midst are testing our future as humans to a far more insidious and irreversible extant than is openly admitted to by its architects, scientists and designers.

In case you haven’t noticed, and there are many, it seems, who haven’t, We are fighting for our lives. Under duress of an agenda driven with psychotic fixation on its outcome, time in its most rigid sense is not on our side. Saturn is, in the most traditional sense, the ruler of time and mortality and, if present trends are an indication, the Aquarian ideal is currently showing a very steely edge of inhumanity that reflects this.

The continuation of the ‘war on terror’, the 21st century’s defining oxymoron, which began this millennium has now been extended into and by the heady synthesis of medical, corporate and political determinism. Militarised against a common foe, its alleged enemy is invisible and pandemic; but, the big con in that war has always been about who exactly is in the cross-hairs. The threat, however it is packaged now, is mass die-off, and even though the hardware facilitating the infection of the biome with atom scaled nano-technologies feeds the subtle if saturating encroachment of a growing empire of digital enslavement, its primary weapon of mass destruction is, it seems, fear.

From the extremity and insidious nature of the Saturnian treatment alone which people worldwide are being subjected to, the more gullible and blinkered among us might be forgiven for thinking, and many do, that the real threat is each other – we are the enemy in the midst, not of a biological war against infection, but against self programming psychological and physical control of our freedom and liberty. This extends into climate and environmental threats, in which we are given to believe that ‘our’ part is totally culpable, until of course we get on board with ‘the green new deal’ and ‘build back better’. Its almost as if you could shuffle Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus, Taurus and Aquarius, and no matter how you deal them, as long as you comply, “the future never looked so good”.

As someone said, we are being encouraged to build our own prison, and to believe that we are being good citizens in the process.

The future is what we make it, and, if the new Aquarian era has gotten off to a disturbingly dystopian beginning, the uncanny thing is, it is all very recognisable. In fact, we have been carefully if not relentlessly primed to view our past as if this was inevitable, given the evidence. Given the prescribed role in remedying the situation, for all the posturing around carbon taxes and renewables, we should feel compelled, if not to accept it, then to know that role as an inevitability grown out of our own behaviour and ways of life. That, at least, is what the psychological terrain that we have been navigating over the last century or more has prepared us to think.

But, its a lie.

Cherished, common sense ideals have been co-opted into agendas and repackaged to provide perfect cover for the ultimate coup, no less than an attempt to overthrow once and for all the threat which free thinking human beings present to the self appointed architects of our future.

Its an impressive edifice of control, planned down to the last detail, its infrastructure of advancing technology and its magical ‘benefits’ the perfect Trojan horse enabling its roll-out. An immaculately conceived vision of deadly control, so readily mirroring Saturn in Aquarius and, through A21, the Saturn return from hell. Seeing through the lie is a part and parcel of dealing with that Saturn return.

Importantly, as is always the case with such transits, there does come a point of release; there is hope. Moreover, the emphasis this new era brings will naturally seed a counter movement, at grass roots level. Even though that too will have been planned for, the limitations and control leveraged against it are itself a rebuilding of temporal realities within the mental sphere, it is in our power to up our game and see them for what they are.

Where this operation against our minds differs this time is in its attempt at co-opting us into the transformation of the planet through a maddeningly complex and pervasive synthesis of the natural and entirely artificial.

We need to be aware and acknowledge that a great many of us have already been pulled into the honey trap with such ease and are now unwittingly entering the world of bio-computing, virtual, non-physical incarnation in and out of time as a basis for reality, and of our freedoms within its design led social transactions. Its blockchain shackles are right now dismantling the old currency of our consumer world and dangling the chrome plated crypto lure of decentralised enrichment inside a technological prison we are building keystroke by keystroke.

Be under no doubt. The global transformation now creating a virtualised financial market place that trades on human capital, currently priming itself on weaponised health regimes and performance oriented pre-determined paths of credit generating skill acquisition, will make virtual slaves of us all, unless we do raise our consciousness and our game around its reality and nature.

The way to combat it is not in simply avoiding it and attempting to build a new world based on restoration of care and natural health to this planet; left to its own devices, and those of its makers, there will be nowhere to run, unless we comprehend the nature of this beast, well enough to counter it. We must recognise its attributes within ourselves and, having identified their shadow nature, integrate them, fully, not as a reality become manifest, but as an accepted aspect and reflection of our own consciousness, being shown back to us right now.

A lifetime’s work, we must realise that intrinsic to raising levels of consciousness, we must also learn how to maintain it, work at it, daily be aware of it, moment to moment even, and in so doing be willing, in the spirit of an integrated Saturn Uranus archetype, if such a thing exists, to work at raising it further, to the highest level we can in fact.

Here Saturn teaches us our limitations by default. The hard problem of the moment teaches us the value of our efforts. In essense it reveals the hidden gift, of surrendering to the effect of searching for the light, of reaching for the ideal it represents, namely and inevitably that we will encounter the reality of our own shadow on the way.

The covert journey into transhumanist, digital slavery, has been hidden for long enough beneath the road that leads to the desirable outcomes which we most are seeking to realise ‘for the sake of the world’. Those desirable outcomes are repackaged and sold back to us through agendas and new deals which we see evolving rapidly in the world right now, and all of this is a mirror of that shadow.

It does well to remember Jung’s admonition, “Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is”.

For many, because our very aspirations and good intents are being used against us to fulfil those agendas and new deals, the shadow we encounter in the process of exposing their reality will almost perfectly fit the shape of own own. We are called upon to know and understand this relative reflection of the inner and outer worlds, to grasp the vitally important interplay of its dynamic within our own lives and experience, and the part we are playing in its dissemination right now. To be cognisant of the nature of our resistance to it, which may in fact at an unconscious level be feeding its dissemination, is essential – focusing on the light, and our light alone, is not only not enough, it will inevitably feed that shadow, and its manifest presence in the world.

These are hard Saturn in Aquarius lessons in which our consciousness is the field and locus, and we are the compass of our own journey. Any journey into consciousness that seeks enlightenment will inevitably lead to an encounter, our personal encounter, with the unconsciousness, and not only our own but, importantly in our times, the manifestation of the collective unconscious, so called, very much the locus of the shadow of our times and human presence.

The Aquarian age demands our realism, right from the get go, and Saturn, working with Jupiter and Uranus to disseminate and inspire the work this involves, is making damned sure we get this vital realisation.

Not all will……but, its the ones that do who will prevail.

Creating The Path Is The Path ~ Mars Stations Direct

In the early hours of June 30th Mars stations at 23°03′ of Scorpio and, from our Earth perspective, begins a new two year cycle of direct motion.  Mars direct offers us a springboard for informed action that is in alignment with our deepest desires. However, to gain the optimum benefits of this impulse it is well advised to first align with Mars slowdown, to realign ourselves with our own internal drives before putting new plans into action. As Mars slows down to standstill after ten weeks of being retrograde, it is now time to take a moment to reflect on the most important lessons we can draw from the last two months or more.

If you have felt as though, in some important areas of your life, you have been driving with the handbrake on, from the end of June into early July you can expect a sense of emergence and greater freedom to come into play – allow some time to let your wings to unfurl and feel their power before taking off for the wild blue yonder.

If you have been able to bide your time or have treated this time as an opportunity to have fun with the retrograde period, doing handbrake turns and making circles in the road, this is now a time to stop burning rubber senselessly and take a more serious view towards your own agenda – draw breath and for the next couple of weeks show yourself just how adept you can be at taking the potential of your own life seriously.

The gist is that Mars retrograde  is a time to either slow down and go with the flow or to let off steam, both being preparation for a coming time of focus and concerted effort. Either way, in Scorpio Mars ultimately gives us a deeper sense of our own power and its place in the world, and, with this apparent change of impetus a change of perspectives comes into play. The third quarter of 2016 will undoubtedly challenge us to face up to how we are using our energy in pursuit of our most deeply held desires.

Reassessing our deepest passions at a personal level inevitably brings us face to face with limitations to using our personal power that we have experienced in the past. The expansion of imagination and (self) knowledge that we can bring to bear on this process will directly affect the world view we have, especially when Mars enters Sagittarius again just after Lughnasadh, at the beginning of August. This will be a good time to embark upon new fields of learning, to broaden our skills base and thinking.

Collectively, in the face of current circumstances, this shift in perspective meets a longer term necessity; we know  we must become more worldly wise, especially as we now enter a time in which the will of the people will be increasingly tested against the will of the power brokers in this world. Where these clash, where we experience dissonance between our own agendas and those that have we have been co-opted into, ‘a new level of understanding’ is the optimum prerequisite – it signals a time of ‘consciousness raising’ and any action that lacks this fundamental requirement runs the risk of repeating our mistakes, as well as of instigating confrontation and violent reprisal. Conversely, with the higher goal firmly in our grasp we stand a good chance of seeing the ‘groundswell’, the resurgent ‘will of the people’ that was seeded at the Spring eclipses bearing first fruits.

The cultural and global impact of this effect will bring fresh challenges to the status quo, and a refueled sense of purpose is a prerequisite for making our actions count, in the face of any resistance to systemic change it may catalyse. I am anticipating a third quarter of dynamic attempts at restructuring the relationship between personal and institutionalised power, and we need to be ready and well informed!

Mars will be carrying the Scorpio imprint of unwavering focus and determination forward in its new cycle so, where there are clashes of agendas, we can expect hightened friction to colour the mundane world as we shift between the Ages. However, the planetary matrix indicates that we will see this dynamic upping a gear sooner rather than later. Towards the end of August the red planet will return to 9° of Sagittarius, the degree in which its retrograde period began – the preparation we can undertake now and ensuing the sense of direction we have chosen will meet its first real test.

swordwoman

On August 24th Mars will meet with Saturn on the fixed star Antares, squaring the lunar nodes, a strong indication that the prevailing focus will be on how the wilful use of aggression is shaping our world, and what its antidote is. At its ‘higher octave’ Antares martial focus belongs to the individual who champions the underdog, the ‘David’ like figure who stands up to ‘Goliaths’ of this world and fights for liberation. People power starts with each of us and activism will be more effective if it is ‘knowingly applied’, organised, keeping the bigger picture firmly in mind, rather than simply as a collectively realised personal reaction to events. A skilfull use of our personal power and knowledge is favoured over crude use of force that follows the herd.

The challenge is to use the will to higher ends, to temper our tempers, to use the fiery life force at large constructively, and to keep the focus on significant and beneficial long term change rather than short term victories. There is a philosophical flavour to the view that will emerge, bringing the more traumatic consequences of ‘short-termism’ into sharp focus.

As Mars moves beyond Saturn a moment of hiatus may crystalise following events that, for example, cause us to severely question and make a concerted effort to bring an end to the misuse of  our vital energy and its co-option in the pursuit of conflict and war. This will coincide with Mars transit of Uranus south node, a crucial point already activated by Saturn’s station retrograde three months ago.

Saturn’s retrograde will itself come to an end shortly before the meeting with Mars when the Moon transits the ringed planet on August 12th, so the lessons of Saturn’s own retrograde period must also be taken into account before hand, as a part of our preparation. These reach back to March 24th 2016 when, just hours after the full Moon/lunar eclipse, Saturn slowed to a standstill within 30′ of arc of the south node of Uranus in Sagittarius.

Embedded within the 36 year cycle between Neptune and Saturn this astrological event underlined the question of who we are and why we are here, the meaning of our mortality and relationship with death within life. With these two planets currently in a tight square and the lunar nodes closing to square Saturn over the coming months the third quarter of 2016 has a philosophical quality about it that underpins the ongoing global transformation already underway.

Uranus seven squares with Pluto have undermined the power structures of ‘the Establishment’ and we are now dealing with the effects of this, the turbulence in their wake. Saturn’s presence also carries the Sagittarian signature forward, putting everything that has stood for maintenance of the status quo into a ‘global context’ of reconfiguration at ground level.

The challenge is to avoid falling back into old patterns and materialise a break with the past that commits to working for a better future. Collectively, this could be a magical and inspiring time, if our personal will is able to operate beyond habitual constraints and we have the imaginative ability to re-envision the human imprint upon our home planet. Every individual’s contribution counts.

In Saturn’s square with Neptune the anthropocentrism of the human presence on planet Earth is questioned in its relationship to the ecocentric spirit and aspirations of our times. This relationship is bringing increasing tension into the world as we question our own collective purpose in the light of environmental disturbances and their relationship to our use of power and technology within the current cultural and spiritual paradigms. This is an aspect that brings the imaginative and spiritual realms of consciousness into question through the lens of pragmatic worldly analysis. When we get into this frame of mind, the constellation of Piscean archetypes and the dynamics of imagination can ground in new forms within the Sagittarian field, but not before exposing both our spiritual deficit and our hubristic tendencies. Uranus can also indicate where the trauma arising from these tendencies continue to affect us, where we need to raise our consciousness to a new level.

Saturn and Neptune’s rhythm is deeply instructive. In the human realm the 36th year marks the first waxing square after the first Saturn return, a moment of maturation that tests the validity of the gains we have made in the process of coming home to the reality of our selves. It is the equivalent of three Jupiter cycles, an expansion of our personal power that requires a new level of maturity, and presages the need to consolidate our gains towards meaningful ends, a process which is tested at mid-life. As we enter the very beginning of the current period of recapitulation and preparation, as Mars slows down and turns direct, we now find Jupiter and the Moon’s north node conjunct in Virgo. They are exactly on Uranus and Pluto’s meeting point at the beginning of their current cycle during the mid sixties.

These times carry some potent connections across time and question our capacity to embrace the wider view through time towards the future. Uranus in Aries is quincunx Mars as he stations direct in Scorpio – and Mars rulership of both signs reflects a time to claim our own sovereignty. Mars also trines retrograde Chiron in Pisces – self compassion is the key to healing our spiritual wounds, the sign that we are ready to reclaim and strengthen the link with the wisdom of our ‘higher self’.

‘Rebellious youth’ must, inevitably, become ‘responsible adult’ and humanity, having acted for too long like a kid in a Ferrari, must realise that the red light that is flashing in the periphary of our vision is not simply the cops giving chase, the past catching up with us, but, also the sign that our tank is approaching empty and we may be running on air. The ‘fly-boys’ and hedonists of the world are about to get their comeuppance! But, we don’t want to be taken down with them…..

longship

Make good use of the coming weeks to get with your own inner beat, develop the meaningful art of understanding your own rhythms, and re-orientate your life towards worthy causes that your own passions align with naturally. With a sense of liberation and willingness to navigate through unknown territory the world takes on a dynamic vitality that reflects Mars impulse to get up and live; as the July new Moon approaches we can prepare for fresh fields, an expansion of our personal and collective scope, and carry the momentum forward with a deepened sense of responsibility.

No matter how small you may feel in the face of our current global challenges Mars message is to be confident in yourself. There is great power in this. Take this time personally, make it your own, but, remember, everything you do has a meaning and a purpose that reaches well beyond the known – this is the age of transition and, in it, creating the path ‘is’ the path.

Redeeming Prometheus

“In the world unknown
sleeps a voice unspoken;
By thy step alone
can its rest be broken” (1)

So long as we are held within the grip of a compulsion to externalise it, the inner illumination of the divine fire that enters through the imaginal realms may hold more importance than we realise – it was not always so, but, neither need it always be so. Questions arise around the relationship between the unseen and the tangible realms under the light of the June full Moon, and Uranus asks whether we can survive without remembering what instigated the crisis caused through their seperation. The answer, like the seen and unseen worlds, lies sleeping in a ‘world unknown’ and integrating its lessons into our world view is the step we must now take.

We began to radically transform that world view when Uranus south node first entered Sagittarius, 2700 years ago. Where formerly we had been immersed in the oceanic undercurrents of a more archae-emotional realm, it signalled a rise in inspired thinking that penetrated the manifest world with profound insight. But, it was a torch held aloft in a realm that had formerly been perceived fluorescent with spirit and soul, a world fast becoming a shadow land, of increasing contrasts, dividing as between night and day. We had arrived in a place that for millenia had already been moving steadily away from a more deeply rooted experience of the promethean fire.

As the divine spark present within all life receeded from our grasp we began to look for it within the tangible realms. In fact, our journey into the Sagittarian fields of philosophy and knowledge could well have been the natural human response to this process, a shift from the all enfolding ineffable towards the personalised individuated experience of the divine. It was the beginning of our pathological experience of the world and, with the ensuing rise of religion, as a formal extension of this experience in relation to the divine, the power of rational thinking correspondingly became its wilful executor within this world. As ironic as it may seem, the advent of religious experience seeded the rise of logic, rational discourse and phenomenal objectivity and in the process laid the foundations from which secular science would eventually emerge. This was the beginning of our hubris.

Two millenia later the Enlightenment brought this process to its logical conclusion. Saturn and Jupiter, who had once ruled the worldly affairs of heaven as a counter against the human will, had become dethroned, relegated and co-opted into the inner pantheon of humanity, Saturn ruling our world view with the pragmatic logic of cause and effect, and Jupiter, our ever thirsting quest for knowledge. These roles still apply, but, the astrology we practice is changing – it too has stepped up to that threshold. Saturn has turned upon Uranus memory.

LIFE   DEATH   LIFE  –  TRUTH (Ω)

Saturn shows us now that we have reached a place of standstill, stationing on Uranus south node in Sagittarius, a place in which paying our karmic debt is crucial to releasing the promethian impulse from its secularised straightjacket of rationality and scientific progress. This is the age of transition in which we are tasked with responsibility for redeeming our relationship with the divine fire, and use of it, as a positive power within the world. We have applied this vital energy outwardly, filling our world with a material manifestation of its power and, as the Ages shift have come to the point where the accretion of the consequences to our actions, having effectively uncoupled us from its inner source, are now drawing us back into its field of influence, towards the source of that sacred illumination.

Not only our science, but, our minds have led us here, our path poised at the threshold of that ‘world unknown’ – for some, the next step is inconceivable, for others it has already been taken. It is inconceivable to the wholly enslaved mind that its rational master could ever be found deficient, but, we must claim our freedom from knowing and reclaim the sanity of our liberty from reason’s irrational hegemony. Too much of the opiate of rationality and reason can unhinge our minds. To enter the ‘world unknown’ is not to collapse the wave of probability into the particle of the known, but, to ride it, become submersed in it, become it, in all its luminous darkness.

This moment, the heart of this lunation, with Sun and Moon, spirit and soul illuminating the solstice axis, asks for us to let the voice of the sacred fire be our navigator, the unspoken voice that would in-form us and self propagate the inner flame, raising it and us from our own sleep. To burn off the calque that obscures its native tongue, the spirit and soul must unite in transfiguring the body nature and free the material body from its exile. In exile it has become a shell, a husk of accretions that have calcified our imaginal nature – in the spiritual lucidity of the solar disc, and the lunar luminousity of the soul, the light of our inner eye is released from the limitations they impose.

“Throw away the lights, the definitions,
And say of what you see in the dark

That it is this or that it is that,
But do not use the rotted names.

How should you walk in that space and know
Nothing of the madness of space,

Nothing of its jocular procreations?
Throw the lights away. Nothing must stand

Between you and the shapes you take
When the crust of shape has been destroyed.” (2)

They were accompanied by Orpheus name and offered in complete faith of the Orphic mysteries as a deliverance from the shores of uncertainty that surrounded the lands of the dead. Common Ground

firedance

“Generosity is a virtue for individuals, not governments. When governments are generous it is with other people’s money, other people’s safety, other people’s future.” (1)

The potential of the eclipses we have witnessed in the first half of this year is ours to be be realised, and, as the year progresses intentional conscious participation in our own evolutionary process becomes central to working with the eclipse signatures. This is a very political signature when it comes down to it, but, amongst the eclipses the lunar eclipse of March 23rd, while being partial and relatively subtle, just within the ‘eclipse zone’ so to speak, is notable for having activated the Aries Libra axis, a shot of adrenalin to the social arena – the other three eclipses of 2016 all highlight the Pisces Virgo axis and show more of the internal processes at work that are setting the agenda within that arena, both at an individual and collective level.

If the solar eclipse of March 9th highlighted the need for conscious self determination based upon personal experience and knowledge to take precedence over globalised top down ideological determinism the lunar eclipse of March 23rd raised the question of whether we are capable of creating a social context that is coherent enough to support such self authority without diminishing it or its potential for creating real change.

The Aries Libra axis points towards challenges in consciousness that are intrinsic to this socialising process. This is a process that aims to create a society in which the power is returned to the people. Within the predominant paradigm the Aries drive that fuels such a process itself must become conscious and Venus higher octave of ‘relative values’ within Libra, if based upon lucid perception and listening, can provide the drive for awareness necessary to such a society with its own mirror. It is this self reflective quality that helps the new social consciousness seeded at the March solar eclipse and emphasised at the March lunar eclipse to take on its potential protean qualities, adaptive, able to respond to immediate needs and to find appropriate shape accordingly. The rhetoric for change is empty without this mutable potential.

The Sabian symbol for the Sun’s degree in Aries at the March lunar eclipse speaks of the emergence of dipolar qualities within its conscious imprint, the awareness of dualism within the evolving self, but, as embryonic as this may appear does its innate naivety work against it? How we create such a context, one that is itself free of the effects of those ideologies it has been formerly programmed by, formed in service to and which itself does not perpetuate their faults, is dependent upon utilising the potential within this polarity.

The Sabian symbol for the eclipsed March Moon also reveals something here; it shows us a circle of young people gathered in communion around a central fire – intrinsic to this symbol is Listening, a quality that underlies the positive aspects of Libran consciousness. To quote, the Sabian text tells us that, “If a new society is to be built, those who yearn for it, or perhaps who have envisioned its outlines, should commune. But communion is useless where no central “fire” burns, IN-SPIRITING the group“. While listening is a fundamental human necessity within this social context it is the central fire, its creative principle, that calls us together and defines the space within which it is activated and illuminated. The ‘creative principle’ at work within ‘gathering’ reveals the nature of our common ground.

Here Mars elemental thrust is reclaimed from the prevelant ideological paradigm of ‘progress’ and consciously put to work in our midst, supporting the process of self determination and social formation. This signals a reframing and revisioning of the ‘democratic processes’ itself, a need that is all too present in our time. While the UK debates whether to remain in the EU or not, a debate that highlights the need for change in ‘representation’ either way, it is the US electional process that we can look to here for some primary indicators of how this is playing out, especially within the ‘Democratic Party’ itself. If Bernie Sanders represents the new re-alignment and activation of social consciousness Hillary Clinton is well positioned to continue the dynastic tradition peculiar to American politics within our time. Between them they encapsulate the paradigmatic political struggle that is its characteristic.

“A regime which combines perpetual surveillance with total indulgence is hardly conducive to healthy development.”(2)

As the Sabian symbol for the Moon at the lunar eclipse also indicated the signature of the preceding solar eclipse is here ‘evolved’ forward indicating that an answer can be found in fostering a ‘grass-roots’ movement ‘of the people, for the people, by the people’ – that may in our times have the ring of irony about it (in respect of the Gettysburg Address), but, doesn’t it also sound like a familiar battle cry from the hustings?

The transits to Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton’s natal charts in connection with these eclipses are worth noting here. With Clinton we have a problem as her birth time is in dispute, but, while I would have gone with the 8:02 am time giving her a Scorpio Asc I am leaving out references to the houses in both charts and to the angles in her own chart, while I’ve included Sanders Asc and MC as they are significant here.

The eclipsed March Moon was conjunct Sanders natal Mercury, sextiling natal Pluto. This coincided with an acrimonious 8th debate between Sanders and Clinton in Miami, as well as Sanders victory in the Michigan primary. The March solar eclipse fell on Clinton’s natal Moon and squared her natal Uranus, the day she delivered her “counterterrorism” speech at Stanford. Do politicians utilise such transits intentionally…..it is certainly not unprecedented for them (and their masters) to do so.

Sanders is also seeing Uranus transit his natal Moon + Mars, a sustained transit that is igniting his popularity as a champion and fighter for social change. Clinton has natal Pluto and Mars conjunct in mid Leo forming an exact square to her Scorpio Venus and a loose but applying square to her nodes – an indicator of an ambitious nature which her Sagittarian Jupiter emphasises. She will stop at nothing in its pursuit, which her Scorpio Sun will risk everything for – even if it means her downfall she will remain undetered.

The fight is well and truly on as transiting Saturn is squaring Sanders natal Virgo Sun and transiting Mars squaring his MC, while Neptune is transiting his IC. He is having to draw on his most innate visionary qualities in bringing his deepest social values into realisation. Transiting Mars will conjunct Clinton’s Jupiter twice during the current Mars retrograde, stationing direct on her Scorpio south node. These transits reflect the uphill battle Sanders has faced as an ‘independent’ pitted against Clinton’s ambition and establishment platform, but, show how while these make her a formidable opponent these same qualities can also be her achilles heal, especially when her south node is activated by Mars and her personal history is under attack. Clinton’s natal Saturn, in detriment in Leo, also squares her nodes indicating a life heavily suffused with karmic lessons.

The remaining eclipses of this year will also directly affect both Sanders and Clinton’s natal charts. The solar eclipse of 1st September falls just one degree from Sanders Midheaven, and the lunar eclipse of September 16th falls on Sander’s south lunar node, this time both luminaries squaring Clinton’s natal Uranus. If Sanders appears fated to carry a revolutionary vision to the people as a break from the past, Clinton appears as his perfect foil, a woman in pursuit of the precedent of claiming the ‘top job’, but, in the midst of such ecliptic interaction the Uranian element is absolutely key – Uranus will conjunct Sander’s natal Mars on the September lunar eclipse. This could signal both ‘breakthrough’ and equally ‘martyrdom’, though no-one would wish the latter upon him, save his detractors. His Scorpio Asc makes him tenacious but equally susceptible to fault in the midst of power and deception – there are vulnerabilities at stake with both candidates. If they both have it all to fight for, what that ‘all’ means to them both as well as to us is deeply and significantly polarised.

The fight for the Democratic ticket and the challenges to its holder will continue to be ignited by astrological transits to both candidates charts in the run up to election day, but, that is a matter best served in a seperate post. Either way it is the longevity of the prevelant political ideology that is ultimately going to be the deciding factor. We are poised on a knife edge and it is the people who will decide, if their votes and voice are to count for anything…..

“The world is changed not by the self-regarding, but by men and women prepared to make fools of themselves.” (3)

If, as it often seems, it is the People who have been made fools of by the political power game, in the current political climate, which has its tentacles reaching into all our personal interests, there is an emergent level of consciousness at work here that cannot be denied. It is a consciousness itself born out of the need to be free of hegemonic ideologies and their encumbant effects. Such consciousness holds attributes we might associate with Mercury and Uranus in combination and it is worth remembering here that Uranus north node is in mid Gemini. However, as the outcomes of many social revolutions and dictatorships alike have shown, being solely self determining, a hegemony unto oneself, is a seriously dangerous business, in fact it is the inherent danger and runs counter to the ‘grass-roots’ theme; to evolve and be able to establish coherence beyond its own anarchistic undertones such consciousness requires acceptance of ‘difference’ and a willingness to acknowledge that no one individual or group of individuals can represent ‘the whole truth’. This was always the caviat inherent in the March solar eclipse, the truth that requires revitalising in the process of emergence from the millenia of power struggles that have shaped the cocoon of our body politic. It applies equally to any sustainable future in which a new social vision might take flight.

We are looking then towards engendering a shared coherence based not on homogeneity or its ideological counterpart ie. democratic conformity, but, through bringing a mutable quality to its conscious formation and sustainability, and, while as a species we are not without precedent for such a context, those who have lived it have, historically, been suppressed, their fire all but stamped out – we must accept that we are both returning to the beginning and making a break from the past in rekindling that fire.

There is an evolutionary consequence to this – while we are not being called upon to re-invent the wheel, in exploring  new ground we must be ready to make allowance for what we do not know, to suffer our own foolishness in the process. Such a task belongs to individuals who are, at core, secure enough within themselves to undertake the fools journey without its pitfalls undermining their self authority. It is perhaps a consequence of human consciousness that we do so, as we witness each other speaking and acting upon our personal truths. It requires of us a balancing act between being able to have the courage of our convictions and to be ready to learn from our errors, and laugh at ourselves in the process. Discernment without over-ruling judge-mentality is key, a signature of maturity as well as a more egalitarian society.

As we venture further into the cauldron of the year we will find this evolved and evolving capacity serves us all well as the matrix is now breaking away from rulership under the cardinal face off exemplified by the Pluto Uranus square. We will be resonating more with the meaning seeking qualities set up by Jupiter, Neptune, Saturn and the Moon’s nodes through their mutable T square active through Virgo, Pisces and Sagittarius. The sixth, ninth and twelth signs of the zodiac bring that much needed mutability into focus in the run up to the September eclipses, and how this will carry our impetus for social and personal evolution forward will be explored further in future posts. As we enter a self reflective period in which Mercury will station retro in Taurus joining Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Pluto already retrograde it is the mutable Geminian signature and the revolutionary Uranian future which will bring its potential into conscious synthesis.

Memories Of Futures Past

butoh

We have to talk and talk tough, with extreme lucidity, and put our petty concerns aside – the times demand it of us. But, more than that, we have to walk our talk. The radical end game of the Uranus Pluto square has arrived as the two outer planets slowly break out of antagonistic orb. Five years of unrest has seen the world change profoundly, one irrevocable truth overshadowing all others – the disastrous consequence of the pursuit of nuclear power is a reality that will not go away; Fukushima made sure of that. Few could have forseen the actual event of Fukushima, but, well before this, once the atom was split the writing was very clearly on the wall. How on earth did we let that happen? Who’s choice was it……

At the end of the Piscean Age our choices for the future bring us to the very edge, the crux of transition, the fact that whatever we decide now will affect all who come after us. Fukushima’s imprint is seemingly indelible, potentially covering 50 millenia or more, two precessions of the equinox.

The Piscean Age was always ultimately about endgames; its ultimate danger, oblivion, its ultimate promise, absolution. We could have perhaps walked the talk of its spiritual core and brought ourselves to unparalleled heights, but there was always an element in our midst that sought all the glory for itself – and now, caught beneath the many tentacled manifestation of its shadow, it is no exaggeration to say that we are in a fight for survival as we struggle to lift its smothering veil. That shadow element has proven itself ruthless, to the point of self destruction – it is an old old wound that has become cancerous, quite literally, but, we must ask; how did it get there, what is its true nature and what must we do to eradicate it, for good?

We could begin by recognising that it began long ago, not simply a consequence of some mad myopic modernistic race for ‘progress’ but the inevitable consequence of profound changes within humanity that began nearly twelve thousand years ago. The seeds of those changes were sown by cosmological events, Earth changes that forced us to evolve new ways of thinking and living around the end of the younger Dryas. Then too, our choices were stark, but, choices we had. And we would do well to remember them. It is no coincidence that the planetary matrix is reflecting this reality back to us now.

Saturn is conjunct the south node of Uranus – we must remember our unique capacity to survive the worst of adversity, the human ability to meet radical times with an equally radical shift in consciousness, and more than anything else how it changed us – such remembering brings us face to face with the karmic consequences of seeking power over natural law.

Pluto is closing on conjunction with its own south node; we must retrieve the memories of that deep change that shifted the balance of power within our human world, within our human relationship with this living being we call Earth – no matter how painful the trauma, we will find the map that leads us to our own long hidden and virtually forgotten buried treasure in that place.

Without this level of collective self knowledge we are consigning ourselves to repeat our gravest errors, to continue the phobic blackout and inflict upon our selves an even deeper if not irrevocable wound as a species. Pluto’s south node in Capricorn can give us the keys unlocking the mystery of its own north node in Cancer and, the radical necessity of doing so is at its crucial point. Uranus is now exactly squaring that node. The shift in power, the radical change in mores and social structures, seeded the rise of patriarchy and heirarchic relationships based upon dominance. Capricorn represents the culmination of these changes, the apotheosis of Cancer.

When Saturn conjuncts Pluto in 2020 they will meet on Pluto’s south node in Capricorn and be in close proximity to Saturn’s own south node. The shadow of the past will be unavoidably manifest in the present at that crunch time. We have a clear time frame for this endgame.

In the intervening time we will see Uranus transit the Taurean cusp three times, eventually entering tropical Taurus in March 2019 for an eight year stay.

In 2024 Pluto will enter Aquarius for a 22 year transit of Uranus home sign. This transit will culminate in their opposition, the first of seven across early degrees of the Pisces Virgo axis over a three year period. As far off as it may seem the keys to that time, our ability to receive Uranus influx of the Virgoan field, lie in this present time and the current lunation gives us a vital glimpse. We will return to this in the next post.

Before that time, also beginning in 2024, there is another perhaps more beneficial stage in this slow shift of the Ages as Neptune finally leaves Pisces and in the process sextiles both Pluto and Uranus at the midpoint of their trine. This configuration will last for five years and eventually see Uranus transit its own north node in May 2029 in Gemini. Some might say that Neptune in Aries provokes memories of religious conflict and Pluto in Pisces a crisis of spirituality. But, again, it is the conscious choices we make now and the commitment they embody that will determine how well we are able to bring out the positive side of this interplay between the outer planets.

The message is clear – our time for reparation is short. In the last six years, since I began blogging (at Owlmirror) about planetary transits and the revolution in consciousness, the field has changed radically – not only has the world become radicalised but a parallel inner process is at work. Many who have woken up from the torpor of the Piscean miasma are now working to further this change. Our Uranian technological revolution serves to enable this as a continuing process, but, waking up alone is no longer enough. The crisis that waking up to reality presents us with now demands a sea change that must build from within the awakened consciousness of the individual. It is a commitment sourced at soul level. We have to turn the tide now. If we can use the next four years wisely to this effect the four years after may carry enough momentum for us to continue enjoying the benefits of choice.

Choice we do still have, even now, even if these appear diminished and stark against the backdrop of global irradiation and creeping wipeout. These are not morbid pessimistic statements, they are facts, realities, and there is very good reason to accept them as such. The ensoulment of Life as much as our own future depend upon it. Such acceptance and commitment may yet be the very thing that makes the crucial difference, the key to a plausible future, a radically different way of thinking and living – we have to be brave, courageous to accept it, but the bottom line is that Uranus and Pluto were always about a revolution of the soul, not just our own but this planet’s. That is why we are here, now.

Lets not forget that forgotten treasure – it lies behind the door to the future manifest in Pluto’s north node. It takes the shape of a profound memory of the past that is deeply embedded within the souls of all living now, a memory going all the way back to the Age of Cancer, the cultural high point of the age of the Mother Goddess. The egalitarian society which belonged to that time cannot be retreived, but, its soul is asking to be remembered and born anew – it is the gift of the Aquarian Age that can yet give meaning to our times.
